UNICOM was a DoD communication system based on No. 1 ESS
technology, and usually mentioned in the same breath as AUTOVON.
UNICOM apparently had data and store-and-forward capability.
This drive would date to roughly 1961-1963.
I think it might be interesting to a telco equipment collector.
I seem to recall there was some discussion at one time of folks
who collect switching equipment, etc. A quick web search turned
up a few things, but not a mailing list. Is there any such
thing?
