Because it's there.  :-)
It appears that a lot were used in phone systems.
I just want something unique an interesting.  One of my fetishes is
installing as much hardware into a single computer as possible while still
making it all work.  Although with ISA slots and IRQ madness, that might be
borderline masochism.
By the way, if anyone has a source for an inexpensive 16-bit isa extender
board set with cables, please let me know.
