Much of the Macintosh operating system is mouse
driven, so you can do a fair bit without the keyboard. With the "Key Caps"
control panel, you can even enter text without a keyboard! Very clumsy and slow, but, I
suppose if you were desperate after having just spilled a Coke into your keyboard and you
REALLY needed to finish that term paper, you could do it...
I have done exactly that, though with a somewhat newer
Mac. And it was Mountain Dew. Slow, but there wasn't
much that I found myself truly unable to do... at least
the keyboard washed out and dried acceptably within a
few days.
