Can a DEC TU80 tape drive (a 1600bpi device) read
800bpi tapes? The
goal is to archive several 9-track tapes I have. The tapes were
originally for a PDP-11 system, but I do not know the original tape
format (RT? RSTS? DOS? ...).
From the TU80 user guide on
bitsavers.org, this is
strictly a 1600bpi
device. You need to find another tape drive for your project.
