The 7406 is a TTL chip, specificially it's a hex open-collector inverter
(meaning it contains 6 indentical gates, each is a NOT gate, but the
output is either '0' or 'flotating', not '0' or '1').
It can be used as a Unibus driver chip (as can most TTL open-collector
gates). I've certainly used the 7438 (quad 2 input open-collector NAND
gate) to drive Unibus lines.

The answer is 7406. Plain and simple and
compatible and that is it.
If that is the answer, I'm not sure what the question is, because I
didn't ask one...
