Oh, there were some humdingers. Now, mostly forgotten.
One I worked on was the Durango Poppy (I'd love to find one just for
sentimental reasons). 80186/80286 dual-CPU machine, used a Beehive
terminal with a VT100-ish (somewhat modified) control set. Completely
and utterly different hardware--was constructed to run Xenix for the
80286, with the 80186 doing I/O work. I can't think of a single
PC-compatible compatible aspect.
And it rand MS-DOS 2.0 on the 80186.
