The interface is pretty clearly SCSI, else it
wouldn't be able to identify
 itself, though it doesn't spin the drive up.

 There were a variety of those external drive boxes, Dick.  Some snap
 together while others have screws hidden under feet, or ???  Can you
 describe it?
