Again, I'm thinking in terms of vacuum tubes, and I can't see how losing
the knowledge of how they worked is going to affect the future, or even
the present for that matter. We're so beyond them technologically that
they are irrelevant today.

What about those old farts that rely on vacuum tubes for their big expensive
audio amps? Some company even sells a few mounted to a PC motherboard for
the esoteric sound we love to hear playing Quake 3.
The world would be so much better if management schools would bring back
"Difference between your posterior orifice and a hole in the ground 101",
knowing the difference in management is a dead art.
