Just for the hell of it I googled the club I hung
out with in
the late 1970's or early 1980's, NECS. According to one reference
(Springfield Mass. Library) their website was www.necs.org, which
is now owned by one of those horrid 'buy this site' parasites.
Wasn't that an offshoot of the Boston Computer Society? I joined BCS
shortly before they decided they weren't "usefull" anymore and folded.
Their mission was to make computers commonplace and they felt the
mission was accomplished.
