Wouldn't know, but the IBM 1401 and 1410 were. But binary was still
involved, of course.
The binary part was (duh) binary. And the quinary part was a binary
representation as well. The 1410 also used a two- of-five code for the
address regster digits, but even that was 5 bits of -- yup -- binary. It
is hard to do much else with switches after all... 8-)
