I don't think there's any danger in doing this - no moving parts, no
obviously exposed high voltages....
The only thing that I can think of is that if the disk is spinning the
heads will have moved from the landing zone and the physical act of moving
the lock lever to the lock position will move the heads which could them to
crash.
