I've heard that too, but then I've heard some horror stories. From
the Linux side, I've tried it, but it is (or at least was, I haven't
looked at it in about a year) done through the userspace driver, which
makes it slower than pissing tar. These two things were the primary
reasons behind my saying that I (personally) only trust it, at least
currently, on Solaris. And there, I trust it completely, with
everything that matters.
