If you're worried about sub-freezing temps, it might be worthwhile
investigating an old root-cellar trick. Fill a big tub with water
(hot or cold doesn't matter) and place it by the gear you want to
protect. The heat of fusion of water is quite high and might serve
to protect your sensitive equipment should the power fail.
