Oh, come now, not *everything* is Unix. :-)
And there really isn't any reason one cannot create
filenames with
slashes in them in UNIX. The only OS I know of that
completely
prohibits it is Windows.
True - you CAN create filenames with forward slashes
in them. You CAN do pretty much anything you want to
in a UNIX environment. I think the only thing you
CAN'T call a file is . or ..
But, if you do, it's a PITA to work with that file
later... I should have said that "it's not a good
idea" to create filenames with slashes in them.
