It is most likely the oil used. Some oils swell the rubber
while others shrink it. Your not suppose to have so much oil
that the platten gets soaked.
Dwight,
it is the actual plastic molding which has swollen, at the bearing point.
There is very little oil on any of the platten assembly, but I think that
may well have been the cause.
