One problem with stuffing standard drives into a Disk II case (yes, I've done it...)
is that they're *slightly* not deep enough for some 5 1/4" floppy drives to fit
and still allow the power connector to mate. That, and there isn't enough room in a
Disk II case to house a power supply.
A SCSI tape drive enclosure, like from an external DLT drive, is deeper, has a power
supply, and room for two drives.
But, then again, the Disk II enclosures are more "vintagey". :)
