While most don't fall into your requirements (too lazy to go look at
the original e-mail), but the following programs are good at working
with ITA2 "Baudot" signals:
1. MMTTY -- works on Windows, does AFSK
2. fldigi -- works on roughly everything and it's mother, does AFSK,
and with some work can also produce an audio signal that can be easily
made into RS-232; but it won't receive with that method
3. HeavyMetal -- works on Windows, directly outputs RS-232, but I
don't think it can receive, only transmit
Yes, that seems to be the problem. _Every_ RTTY program I';ve looked at
assumes you want audio I/O via a PC soundcard. I don;t, for 2 good
reasons. Firstly I don;'t have a soundcard. And more inportantly I need a
digital signal Preferably at RS232 levels.
Receiving/display is more important than transmitting at the moment. I
have an old (used DTL chips mostly) telegraph data and message generator
which will send the 'Quick Brown Fox' message, the normal test signals
(RYRYRYR..., etc) and so on.
Looks like I will ahve to write my own... At least I have plenty of
machines with serial ports that can work at 50 baud.
