I agree with your assessment of Jeff Duntemann's style. I learned
most easily from a 6809 book by Lance Leventhal -- he has written
several, on a variety of processors. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of
them. By way of warning, however, I already knew how to program in
assembly language for the 8080-Z80, CDC 6500, and Interdata IBM 360
clone by then, so I can't speak to Lance as a writer for newbies.
