I think this was actually a voicemail system. I've read about this and
have been on the lookout ever since for once. I'm still trying to find
out the exact name and manufacturer of the system so I can hit up my
suppliers. It was apparently a relatively popular voicemail system (and
there were only a handful of manufacturers of voicemail systems in the
late-70s/early-80s) so it may be easier to find one of these than an
actual PDP-8.
