telephone exchanged from the early 50's up to the ESS (electronic) exchanges. Remember
seeing ones with less then a full compliment of contacts, but that was pretty uncommon.

Nice, thanks. I recognize the older "U" style relays, my father used a bunch of
those in various ham radio projects.
The end of that article describes Wire Wrap technology. I wonder if that was the first
time it appeared.
