Populating the open sockets is NOT "not original"
At the college, we had Orchid? AST? PC-NET? network, with 2 floppies and
full RAM added. We soon found that it took very little to bring "THE
NETWORK" to its knees, and that contrary to vendor claims, we were the
first to ever put more than 8 machines on that network setup.
We were not allowed to charge a "lab fee", so each student had to buy a
"MerrNet boot disk" from the school store.
