I've worked with a museum and a rare computer -- the solution used in that
case was to provide the machine to the museum under a long-term loan arrangement. That
way, if the museum were to close or decide it doesn't want the machine any longer, it
can't just scrap it because it isn't the museum's property to dispose of.
Given some of what I've read from others, that's an arrangement that seems worth
using more often.
