Although I must say I like the RPL machines too. The 'large as you need'
stack is IMHO a lot nicer than the fixed 4 level one. And the bit
operations are almost as good as those on the 16C. Certainly enough for
what I normally need.

I am wonderign what non-pocket-sized programmers calcualtors came from
HP. I can't think of nay. None of the desktop machines were particularly
good for this sort of thing.
The HP48 and HP49 _are_ pocket-sized. I can fit one wasily in a shirt
pocket [1]. The only problem is that it tends to fall out when I bend
down.. But those machines are not specifically designed for programmers
[1] I have fitted an HP41, tape drive (82161) and printer (82162) inthe
pcokets of my raincoat. I have yet to find a coat with a pocket big
enough to carry a 9114 disk drive though.
mine pretty regularly calculating octal offsets for
pdp11 test programs.
The mini-clone version is also useful, I have one at work.
I've seen the clones of the Voyagers. They're nice, but I don't think I'd
want to use one too much.
