It was certainly featured a lot in the orange/grey walls as foo.bar for
filenames.....didn't they also use brer.bar as well?

Foobar and thought nothing of it. Management came to me and
requested an
explaination until they saw the spelling (I was on a support hotline,
fubar is a fact of life there).
