I mustt be
incredibly lucky. The first serial printer I tired to use with
a Model 1 was a Danders 12/7 and I got that printign withing 3 hours of
owning it. And at least some of that time was spent walikign to/from
H.Gee's (the electrronics shop in Cambridge) to buy a couple of DB25 plugs
and some cable.
But, you probably knew what you were doing.
Not really...
You had schematics??!?
In gneral, yes. I must have had them for the M1 serial prot beucase I
amnaged to get the user manaul but not the board. So I built my own
version of the board based on the schematic in the manual. I rememebr I
coudlnt't get the DC_DC converter moduel, so I made my own using a 555
timer and a pulse transformer. I think I got abotut +12V nad -6V fro mit.
It worked.
If i didn't have the scheamtics for soemthing, well, I had an ohmmeter, a
pen, and a pad of paper...
