I've put some preliminary code up at:

It's still presumably alpha quality, and I haven't tagged any releases yet.
I'm still hoping for some input about how to improve this, particularly for dealing
with various end of line conventions. I have a feature to insert two DELs after each CR-LF
sequence as a place-holder.
