No, hang on. At $40 he's been ripped off. At $400 he's been ripped
off. At $4000 he got a bad deal but the device made a decent profit
(assuming he bought it new in 1976 or whatever.)

Come on, I bet there are places in the US you could
buy a house for $40K.
