I've got an RX50 that needs a cleanup. The heads themselves are no problem, but does
anyone have a recommendation for cleaning the pads that hold the diskette against the
head? They're some kind of felt or foam, fairly filthy, and leave a small round
deposit on the top surface of the diskette...
Thanks.
On 801's, I scrape it with the edge of a dull knife. It loosens any hard lumps.
I vacuum loose particles.
I check to make sure it rest flat with no tilt and light pressure with my finger.
I then put it back in the drive. I don't use any solvent on it.
