DEC got into computers in, what, 1959? That's a bit later than IBM
and Univac, but it seems to be close to the time when CDC and RCA
did. DG of course is much later, they were started by the guy whose
design for the PDP-11 was rejected. When did HP first make computers?
I remember one in the mid 1970s. SGI and Sun are very new by
comparison with any of these guys.
