I used to make my students calculate the total
cumulative time taken up by
Windows bootstrapping. Then I made them divide it out into how many LIVES
it cost.
How about this...
Make your students calculate the cumulative time spent learning the
ins and out of Unix. Then make them divide it out into how many LAYS
it cost.
