Vendors' product specs are often more indicative of the real world,
rather than any "standard". My most thumbed-over SCSI spec for disk
drives is still the 2-volume SCSI-2/SCS-3 spec from 1995. The last
time I looked, it was still on Seagate's ftp site.
The NCR databooks for their chips are also quite valuable,
particularly the "SCSI Engineering Notebook".
