It just gets more people involved, which means more people searching for
the same amount of stuff. Isn't that what you really mean? :)
In conclusion, I really think that newspaper features
about vintage
computing and conferences with lots of publicity do hurt the vintage
computer hobbyist because they invite people who merely have money to
spend on a fad.
Ok, I won't advertise the VCF anymore so that the existing hobbyists won't
know about it. In fact, I'm going underground with it. Let's turn this
into a Secret Society so that we can hoard all the computers for
ourselves.
I'll start working on a Secret Handshake.
