Now, what you do want to worry about in terms of the machine are those idiotic audiophiles. Who will rip up anything to get at the 'tubes. for $50, so a real artifact might be worth a bit. I'd make an offer anyway, not pay his price if it didn't go on the first cycle of being listed. Price means nothing to the audiophiles who would willingly spend thousands --- literally --- on HDMI cables. Now, not all audiophiles are raving lunatics who'll spend thousands on an HDMI cable, but they are more the people you'd have to worry about in terms of analog electronics instead of the steampunk people.
