I had a similar idea a while back: A thing that emulates a SCSI disk
on one side and a iSCSI initiator on the other side. That way I can
connect it to a iSCSI target on a modernish PeeCee and have the "SCSI
disk" of the vintage machine as an image file on the PeeCee.
Or skip the iSCSI stuff alltogether: Reprogramm a NCR / Symbios
53Csomething to act as a SCSI target, emulating a SCSI disk that is
backed by an image file on the host machine.
