No, such things really matter. There is a significant difference in the
quality of tubes from different vendors. The 'gold plated speaker
cable' analogy is badly overused these days.
It _isn't_ simply a matter of buying whatever latest flashy gear has
paid for the proper advertisements and endorsements.
Just as there are better and worse brands of floppy diskettes.
