When I was in the seventh grade, the school had a shiny new mac lab, and
they tried to teach QuickBasic to everyone. I found it fun to write a
simple QuickBasic program that created a small modal window completely
concealed underneath the menu bar. After researching various ways of
getting the program run by unsuspecting students, it was fun to watch the
computer-challenged teacher/students try to figure out why the machine(s)
had frozen up. The teacher gradually grew suspicious of the machines as
the year progressed.
