1) Does anyone have the data sheets on those ICs
on-line anywhere?
I found the datasheet PDF on
http://www.datasheet4u.com/
I can put a copy of it on my homepage if you want.
Thanks. I've looked at it on the website you menitoned (not one I'd come
across before, I normally use
http://www.digchip.com/), so I don;t need
you to put it anywhere else.
Your pinout description matches the pinout in the datasheet.
Indeed it does (and somebody else confirmed that's the right chip).
Of coruse it's easy to find things like the TxD and RxD pins when the
chip is linked to a Z80-SIO on the same PCB (albeit with a multiplexer
between them to give a local loopback I think). But while it's easy to
say that particular pins are conencted to ground of +5V, it's impossible
at this stage to know if they're the power connections to the chip (this
chip doesn't ahve 'corner power pins'), or if they're enables/mode
control pins simply tied to a particular state.
