That's sulfurous acid. Sulfuric acid is formed from Sulfur Trioxide. The
formations are given below.
Sulfurous Acid
SO2 + H2O -> H2SO3
Sulfuric Acid
SO3 + H20 -> H2SO4
Sulfuric acid is much more dangerous than sulfurous acid. Remember,
Johnny was a chemistry student, now Johnny is no more. For what he
thought was H2O, was H2SO4.
