I almost always normalize values in my designs. I don't know why more
people don't. This applies to everything though, not just component
I cna atually think of a reason. In the UK, 'mfd' or 'MFD' was commonly
used as an abreviation for microfarad (not millifarad or megafarad). I
think using mF on a schemtic for millifarads could cause confustion
values. Why would someone say "10,000mL"
instead of "10L"? That's
something about society that I've always wondered about.
When I was at school, an idiot teacher (I rarely had any other kind)
assured me that the unit of pressure was the millibar, and that it was
incorrect to call 1000 millibars 1 bar. I didn't believe it then, I
certainly don't believe it now.
