I thought I'd put out a warning about the Teac
FD-55BV-16-U 5.25" floppy
drives. They seem to be totally unsuited for anything other than reading
MS-DOS floppies.
Do you have a theory to explain why this is true?
I'm just curious -- I always like to know more about how hardware works (or in
this case doesn't work). Could the drive have some sort of "intelligence"
that
is trapping you? I put "intelligence" in quotes because these things never are
actually intelligent.
