I, and others, have found out that the US Border guys
want to see FULL
customs paperwork for any computer stuff bigger than your normal
PeeCee/Mac/desktop/laptop.
About three years ago I returned from Montreal with a carful of gear
bestowed on me by Jo Thiemann. US Customs was utterly disinterested.
After taking a quick glance at a stuffed back seat, they asked if I had
anything in the trunk. When I said "more of the same", the officer rolled
his eyes and waved us through.
They may be on the watch for a lot of things at the border, but classic
computer equipment doesn't seem to be one of them.
