Absolutely not true. I both sold, and owned AST 286 and 386 systems back in the late
1980's, and early 1990's. They were VERY nice systems with a stylish case.

IBM, Viglen, Apricot, lots of Amstrads - the 1st cheap PC
clones in the UK & also big in Germany under the Schneider brand, I
believe.
AST here was expansion boards, no complete machines;?
