Regardless of CPU, since they have a keyboard, display and printer
interface as well as a floppy drive, wouldn't that qualify them for hack
status? Some of the Brother and SCM WPs used 8051-family CPUs. Amazingly
gutless wonders. Some used Z-80 type CPUs, but remember that corners were
cut almost to bleeding to make these things inexpensive.
The original Amstrad PCWs were Z80-based, and ran CP/M rather nicely.
