actually, plenty of my classic machines don't have mains filter modules.
They have spearate capaxcitors and indcutors on the PCB. I prefer that --
easier to repair.

Possibly. Althoguh a lot of computer equipment is
metal-cased and
certainly wouldn't meet the requirements for double insulation. One
consern would be the mains filter.
Those metal-cased line filters are becoming increasingly rare on
power supplies. Progress, I guess.
