Umm the world is round. I suspect all the big cleaning of old stuff
was done about 10 to 15 years ago, with the advent of digital scopes.
A digital oscilloscope is a completely different instrument with
(mostly) different applications...they have not replaced analog
scopes, and likely will not. It would be more correct to say "modern
analog scopes have replaced 40-year-old tube-type analog scopes".
