Was it a real 1700, or just the core logic used as a controller? I recall
that the controller guts were in a 3000-style "blue glass" enclosure, not
the standard 1700 setup. IIRC, the 1700 core was used on a lot of things
that didn't bear the 1700 nameplate, like tape and disk controllers.
