Yes, in fact, 6pin standard 'RJ12' connectors
are how I make my MMJ
cables since I'm too cheap to try and find MMJ connectors
and a crimper.
The middle four pins are the most important: TX+ TX- RX- and RX+. The
outside two pins (1 and 6) are for flow control.

I always get confused with this... Does a regular telephone cord cross
all the wires, as opposed to a standard MMJ cable which is straight
through?
