IRIX scales up to at least 1024 CPUs and multiple GB RAM per CPU in a
single OS image.
Gues from where Linux got the scalability? SGI, as they are on the way
to replace IRIX with Linux...
AIX scales pretty well too. Look at the System p5-595. Takes 2TB RAM
without doing anything funky to the box. Also runs 64 multi-core POWER5
chips.
