One example that is strictly classiccmp is the board ejector handles
that came with 80's-era Fujitsu tape and disk drives. They screwed
onto the back of the drive in case they were ever needed. When you
needed them, you took them off, inserted the little prongs in the end
of the handle into the matching holes in the PCB's, and easily pull
the board out. It's possible with bare hands or pliers too but
hardly elegant :-).
