I have three different browsers installed, each with a different search
as default. DuckDuckGo compared with Google generally results in
smaller sets of returns. I don't know why, since I thought that DDG
uses Google.
Lycos/Hotbot is now owned by an Indian outfit, but I don't know where
they get their search database. Webcrawler is Google/Yahoo-based;
Altavista is Yahoo. I don't know if there's any real advantage to use a
multi-service search service such as Dogpile.
But heck, I've even been guilty of using Baidu and Yandex in really
challenging searches.
Other than NAPALM, does anyone know of a really good ftp search site?
